First Place in the Central PA Magazine Short Story Contest

1st Place HonorsMike’s entry¬†won First Place honors in this year’s Central PA Magazine Short Story Contest!!! The story, Mourning Portraits, was chosen by critically acclaimed Pushcart winner Benjamin Percy, Writer-in-Residence at York College of Pennsylvania, Dr. Travis Kurowski, Directory of Creative Writing at York College of Pennsylvania, Kathleen Pavelko, President and CEO of WITF, Ted Sickler, Editor of Central PA Magazine, Vito Grippi, Writing Instructor at York College, and¬†Jaleasha Ruth, also of York College.

Mourning Portraits is a story of transition, of looking back and looking forward. It was awarded top honors from among 164 entries representing authors from all over the state. Anton Runkles of Conestoga was awarded Second Place. The story will appear electronically and in print in the August edition of Central PA Magazine.
